Video footage shows a truck descending a mountain pass at speed and swerving repeatedly to avoid other vehicles before crashing into a cliff and overturning on the roadway.
The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on February 1, 2026, on National Highway 6 near Da Trang Pass in Mai Chau commune, Phu Tho Province, Vietnam. According to initial reports, the truck was traveling from Hanoi toward Son La when it is suspected to have suffered brake failure while descending the slope.
Witnesses reported that the driver maneuvered to avoid several vehicles, including a motorbike and oncoming cars, before striking a guardrail, veering into the opposite lane, and hitting the cliff. One person was reported seriously injured, and two trucks were damaged. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
